I can understand that prices are higher on weekends and holidays, but for us, Wednesday night was $25 more than Tues. Would rather have spent a little more money and been closer to the action (Home2suites, Menger, Mansions, Holiday Inn, Hyatt, or even the Hotel Indigo at the Alamo). The water taxi does stop right at the hotel, but it is $10 a day to ride. There are LOTS of stairs down to the river and the 30 min+ walk to restaurants and shops left us disappointed. grab a drink out of the cooler and take it to the front desk to pay for it. There is a nice terrace with comfy seating with a nice fountain, but the bar and the cafeteria are only open for breakfast and dinner, so during the day it's self service. (Awkward, inconvenient, and weird) Dicey during the day, creepy after dark. Wheelchair and stroller accessability is non-existant unless you go out the front door, around the block and through the ghetto parking lot with rainfilled pot holes to get to the ramp off Lexington street. While the hotel IS on the riverwalk, it's not in the best neighborhood. The place in general was just awkward, inconvenient, and weird. The other 2 reasons, however, left us feeling disappointed. And third, the decor said "tasteful, modern, and beautifully interesting." After having recently returned from a mid-week stay, I can tell you that the 3rd reason really hit the mark. Second, the price was less than comparable boutique hotels. My daughter and I(with her 2 young children) picked this hotel for several reasons.First, it was ON the riverwalk.
